Re-zoning application support
KING METAL RECYCLING LLC, MIAMI, FLORIDA
GSE provided consulting services in support of a re-zoning application for the property. Functioning as a support team for the engineers at Echo Tech LLC, who were responsible for the actual preparation and submission of the application. The purpose of this was to quantify the actual and potential noise, dust and vibration impacts to the surrounding receptor parcels. The impacts were reviewed with respect to Miami-Dade County zoning ordinance limitations.
Services provided included:
- Data collection during normal work hours, while performing typical facility operations.
- Review of location site maps to identify potentially sensitive receptors.
- Observation and analysis of the operations to facilitate mitigation of impact to the surrounding receptor parcels.
- Attending the local hearings relevant to the project.
The observed levels of noise were compatible with an urbanized industrial setting. It was determined that the actual and potential vibration impacts were well below allowable limits for the area. The site was exempted from air pollution permitting by DERM because it was proven to be an insignificant source of air pollutant emission sources.
